What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a discipline of health care. It emphasizes the recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs and surgery. This ability is possible in all people. Chiropractors are the only professionals who are trained to diagnose and treat what are called spinal subluxations. The term “spinal subluxation” literally means a slight dislocation or misalignment of the bones in the spine.
The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.
Chiropractic care, when started in early childhood, as early as infancy, can have life long health benefits. Pediatric patients can be helped with a host of problems, including ADHD, ear infections, coordination problems, headaches, general wellness, autism, sleeping problems, bed wetting, reflux, food allergies, asthma, and other acute and chronic conditions children face during childhood.
Overall, children who receive chiropractic care throughout their formative years have a much healthier immune system, experience colds and flu less often and are less likely to experience ‘symptoms’ in adulthood.
People generally think a chiropractic doctor only takes care of the spine to relieve backaches, but there are a variety of other ailments and physical problems that can be helped and sometimes completely eliminated through a chiropractic care program.
